How do you clean the inside? This article will show you how to do this very thing simply, and quickly. Obtain an old bottle, or soda bottle (12 to 20 ounce works best). Find a source of small gravel smaller than or about the size of pea gravel but larger than sand, and every size in between. You only need a hand full, depending on the size of your bottle. Fill the bottle with the gravel to less than ¼ full. Add three of four drops of dish soap, and fill to nearly the top with water. Shake the bottle back and forth and side ways. Use every angle as you shake and swirl it round and round. Dump the sand and water mixture and inspect for any missed places. Repeat as needed. Rinse the bottle well with clean water. Use a brush with soap and water to clean the outside and around the threads and then let dry. If you are going to use it as a beverage container, you can fill it immediately after washing.
