How to Conserve Water when Doing Dishes |

While visiting friends or relatives, it comes a time to help your host clean up after dinner. To your aghast, as a tree-hugger, the way they would do it is by running the hot water tap full blast and gingerly holding each plate to rinse it under the hot water blast for a minute before placing each plate into the dish washer. That is an unfortunate and frequent waste of heat and water in many homes.
Let your dog lick the gravy and leftovers off your dishes, bowls and pots. Your dog would most probably be extremely enthusiastic to perform that task.
Use one of the licked bowls, pour a teaspoon of dish detergent and two table spoons of baking soda into it. Mix tap water into it just enough to turn the mixture into a cream. Stack some, but not all, of the licked dishes into a basin under the hot water tap. Stack them to a height with sufficient room to rinse your cups, glasses and other utensils. If in the course of cooking dinner, there is a greasy pot large enough for placing the dishes, use that pot rather than a fresh basin. Put on a pair of gloves and turn on the hot water to a trickle. Rub the cream of baking soda and detergent onto the fingers of the gloves you are wearing. Now clear greasy cups, glasses and other utensils with your gloves under the trickle of hot water, before placing each into the utensil basket of the dish washer. When warm water has filled up the basin or pot of dishes, remove each dish and place them into the dish washer. Repeat the rinsing of utensils over another stack of dishes. If you run out of greasy utensils or glasses, rinse the plates itself. Run your dish washer to the least amount of time and with the least vigorous cycle. For extra greasy pots, collect all the leftovers that are safe for your pets' consumption into that pot.*Use your blender to grind up sharp pieces of bones before placing them into the pot. Boil that concoction with sufficient water to give your dog a treat of soup. Pour the soup with some solid dog food into your dog's dinning trough. Your pet would love it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This information come from internet, the point has nothing to do with this website, If a violation of your rights, please contact us, we will delete the information. |
